Ike Malada is a Hospitality and Food Consultant team. With more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, both in Australia and in Indonesia.

La Belle products are Macaron, Croquembouche, Cup Cake, Sweets, Gelato, and Desserts. And I helped design its identity.

These stories.. it could be anything..
What I did is just present 2 images that could relate one to another.. It's kinda exciting to see images that have story in it, but you don't really know what it is cause there isn't any text that explain them.. the mystery.
Therefore you wonder.. you speculate.. just to fulfill the curiosity, you made the story up, the way you want it to be..

For example.. the 'Ce Matin La' image.. the man could be imagining the coffee he long for in a particular coffee shop back then. Or He could be remembering that he forgot to drink the coffee his wife made before he goes to the office, etc2 . . .

It started when I'm pissed at someone, i just really need to let it out by drawing a middle finger...

but it didn't seem quite appropriate, so instead i drew all kinds of hand posing... with a little help from my friend Nita Junus, she colorize those hands and make them look so good. I'm so happy.

Playing With Shadows

"Like a child playing with shadows in their room at night."

This is a new year's visual countdown for Canteen, a restaurant in Jakarta.
I was inspired by the "Batman style", a silhouette style at Le Petit Prince Museum in Hakone, Japan.

Instead of still silhouette, we used moving silhouette, and create some stories. The silhouette images tells a continuous story of a passed message to a light snuffer that new year has come.

Open City Jakarta Exhibition

Open City Jakarta is a continuation of selected exhibition materials from 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam in 2009. The exhibition consists of 12 innovative research and design projects which offer distinct scenarios for Jakarta as a Recipro-City. Each project exemplifies a distinct reciprocal relationship: between built environment and nature (Sponge City analyses the flooding patterns in Jakarta and proposes architectural interventions that ameliorate their effects); between formal and informal sectors (Jakarta Bersih focuses on the relationship between formal and informal waste disposal systems in Jakarta); between corporate and local spheres (Social Mall proposes to insert diverse public programs and facilities into malls, so that malls could become better embedded in the community in which they are located.

The 12 scenarios are accompanied by a cast of 12 contemporary wayang characters by Eko Nugroho, and anthropological urban photographs by Erik Prasetya.

Here are the designs for the panel lay out and publication items for Open City Jakarta Exhibition. The inspiration comes from the satelite view to a city. How we look at them from a distance, and take an interest to see them closely.

They are dynamic, informal, and unexpected.
